Sign-in & security

Add or remove sign-in methods, and turn on two-factor authentication.

Your Vision Wallet is custodial: whoever can get into your account can move what's in it. That makes how you sign in the most important security decision you make here. This page covers both halves — the methods you sign in with, and the second step you can add on top. Sign-in methods Settings → Profile lists every method attached to your account under Signed in via. You might have arrived by email link or by Google, X or Discord; you can attach more than one and use whichever is convenient.

Adding one Press Link another and pick a provider. You'll go through that provider's normal sign-in and come straight back. Only providers Vision actually supports and that aren't already attached are offered, so there's never a button that can't work. Removing one Each method carries a small × once you have two or more. Removing one takes away that route in and nothing else — your account, wallet, balances and history are untouched, and you can reconnect it later.

The email on your account can't be detached, because there's no way to re-attach one from this screen and you'd be relying entirely on an outside provider to get back in. It's the route home that's always there. A Google, X or Discord account can only be attached to one Vision account. If it's already on another one, linking is refused rather than moving it. Two-factor authentication Optional, off by default, and the single most useful thing you can turn on.

It uses a standard authenticator app — 1Password, Authy, Google Authenticator, whichever you already have — so there's no SMS and no phone number involved. Turning it on Settings → Security → Turn on 2FA. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or copy the secret it shows if you'd rather type it in. Enter the six-digit code the app generates to confirm it's working. From then on that code is required when you sign in.

You can turn it off again from the same place. Vision doesn't hold recovery codes. If you lose the device with your authenticator on it and have no backup, you lose the ability to sign in. Every good authenticator app can back up or sync its secrets — turn that on first.
